Bamboo & Paper Lanterns – A Midwinter Celebration Workshop

December 17, 2019 - 6:00 pm
Kingston

Calliope Collective is giving you a chance to make your very own paper and bamboo lantern to bring to The Longest Night – A Midwinter Celebration Event at Doug Fluhrer Park in the evening of December 20th in celebration of the #WinterSolstice! Inclement weather date: Dec. 21st

No experience required, and all ages are welcome, although children under 10 will require assistance. We will provide the materials & instruction. You bring your friends, family, and creativity! Watch this page for details on how to create your own marbled paper for your lanterns! (more details soon)

It’s a good idea to allow yourself an hour for a basic design and the duration of the evening for more complex creations!

Please note that these workshops serve as a fundraiser for the main event, which provides paid performance fees to its professional artists. While we ask $10-20 sliding scale for most of our workshops, if you can’t afford this, please email us at info@calliopecollective.com. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds if space is still available.

We would like to thank the Tett Centre for its support of Calliope’s Midwinter Celebration.
