Bruce Kauffman Launch
“an evening absence still waiting for moon”
Sunday, June 30th 10:30-11:30 AM
As part of Poets @ Artfest V and Artfest Kingston 2019
Bruce Kauffman will be Kingston-launching his 4th collection of poetry, an evening absence still waiting for moon (John B. Lee Signature Series, Hidden Brook Press, 2019) on Sunday, June 30th from 10:3011:30am. It will be held in the Poetry Tent in City Park as part of a 3-day outdoor poetry festival called Poets @ Artfest V featuring 56 poets.
Poets @ Artfest V, itself, is part of Artfest Kingston 2019, an annual full arts festival that essentially consumes City Park with 200 vendors and a park full of their tents.
The Poetry Tent will be in the same place it was last year: nestled within 3 taller trees and somewhat mid-park but closer to both the Barrie Street side on the west, and King Street E. on the south with a narrow asphalt pathway leading directly to the tent. And if you get lost finding the poetry tent, just ask where the information tent is, and they can guide you from there.
Emceed by Michael e. Casteels, this event will be a causal launch, allowing time for conversation and camaraderie. Kauffman will offer a 10-15 minute reading from the book at about 10:45 that morning.
For those interested in obtaining this book that day, Novel Idea Bookstore will be onsite with copies of the book that hour of the festival – and will accept either cash or credit.
At any other time of the festival outside the hour of the launch, copies of this and a number of other poets’ books can be picked up off the display table and purchased through their author or Kauffman – cash only.
