Yes it is that time of year again! The 11th annual Fat Goose Craft Fair is back and promises to be another successful show offering a fantastic range of locally made crafts for the holiday season. This year we are thrilled to be hosting a Montreal expo – special showcase of hand-picked, top-notch Montreal makers that will be exhibiting in conjunction with over 50 vendors from Kingston and the surrounding region.
Organized by a group of local makers, the event is dedicated to providing opportunities for both well-known and emerging artisans to showcase and sell their work, making sure to represent a good mix of new makers and old favourites.
Fat Goose Craft Fair guests know to expect more than they might at a typical craft fair – fresh, contemporary ideas and high quality of product are the main features that the show is famous for.
This year some of the proceeds from the admission fee will be donated to Chris Groeneveld-Barry Memorial Fund. This fund, administered by the Community Foundaton, will support local arts organizations, selected by Chris’s family, that promote the principles of social inclusion and community engagement. His mother states: “Chris believed in the magic of people coming together, in community, to create without judgement. Chris loved the idea that Art could build Community for those, who, like the arts, were often misunderstood.” We were all marked by the horrific events of this fall and can find no better way to response than contributing to the fund in his name.
