Kristen Mark Westwood live at Next Church

November 10, 2019 - 2:30 pm

Folk songwriter Kristen Mark Westwood brings his trio to recount the colourful stories from his debut album ‘What I Heard, What I Saw’.

Hailing from Toronto, Kristen Mark Westwood is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, pastor and creative collaborator. At home in multiple settings—from intimate house shows to stadium crowds over 15,000—Kristen has performed across Canada and in the USA. With deft guitar work and a genre-crossing blend of folk, roots and gospel, his songs explore weighty themes and colourful narratives with a nimble variety of tone, texture and rhythm.

His debut album What I Heard, What I Saw is a meditation on the gospel of Mark, born from nearly a decade of wrestling with and rediscovering the stories Kristen was raised on. Collaborating with award-winning producer/guitarist Murray Pulver (The Bros. Landreth, Red Moon Road, Steve Bell), Kristen renders flesh and bone, ache and longing, to characters which have fostered convictions and creativity across the generations.
