The Limestone City Blues Festival will once again bring downtown Kingston alive with the sounds of the blues on August 22, 23, 24 & 25. Celebrating its 23rd anniversary, the festival is delighted to announce Kenny Neal as the Springer Market Square headliner. Kenny is the recently announced winner of Contemporary Male Blues Artist at last month’s Blues Music Awards in Memphis, Tennessee. Opening this evening of wonderful blues music will be Quebec’s Angel Forrest Trio and Napanee’s own Kim Pollard Band.
Friday night, the incredible Danielle Nicole from Kansas City who was a double winner at last month’s awards – Contemporary Female Blues Artist and Bass Player of the Year – will headline the Princess Street Stage! Opening for her will be Gary Cain Band from Kitchener, Ontario.
The festival kicks off this year with the sensational whammy clavinet playing Lachy Doley from Australia on Thursday August 22 in Confederation Park. Dubbed the Jimi Hendrix of the Hammond Organ, he’s a not-to-be-missed festival opener.
Once again, Limestone City Blues Festival will present over 100 hours of true blues music over all four days of the festival for only a $20 bracelet – it gets you into everything! And you get a free blues buck worth $10 off a purchase of $50 or more at many downtown merchants until the end of September.
Bracelets will go on sale in early July – check back here for all the information you need.
