All are welcome to attend the 2019 Mayor’s Arts Awards ceremony and reception on Monday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. in Memorial Hall at City Hall, 216 Ontario St. Hosted by Mayor Bryan Paterson, the ceremony will unveil the five recipients of the 2019 program and celebrate their contributions to the arts in Kingston. A post-reception event will follow at 8 p.m. in Memorial Hall with a performance by local pianist, Ian Wong.
Now in its third year, the Mayor’s Arts Awards is an annual recognition program that celebrates artistic achievement and recognizes extraordinary contributions in and to the arts. By increasing the profile and appreciation of the arts, the awards enhance the cultural vitality and civic identity of Kingston. Through this program, the City affirms the value of the arts in City life, and nurtures and inspires sustained development of the cultural sector to the benefit of all its citizens.
