Waterside Summer Series: Charles Richard-Hamelin

July 4, 2019 - 7:15 pm

This prize-winning (Chopin International 2015) Canadian pianist returns to our stage performing Prokofiev, Rachmaninov and, of course, Chopin. His power, precision and nuance at the keyboard at times defy credibility. Charles Richard-Hamelin is a “must see, must hear.”

Waterside Summer Series Music Festival (aka “Waterside”) is a registered, not-for-profit charitable corporation with a mission to present excellent, primarily classical, music entertainment in the intimate setting of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church on Amherst Island. Although “Waterside” originated as a fundraiser for St. Alban’s Anglican Church in 1994 and then operated in association with Loyalist Township for many successful years, the organization became totally independent after acquiring charitable status in 2016.

Amherst Island, a place of tranquility and natural beauty, is just a half-hour drive from downtown Kingston, west along the Loyalist Parkway. The ferry leaves the mainland every hour on the half-hour.

All concerts take place at St. Paul’s, just south of Stella.  Tickets cost $37 and include refreshments served during the 20-minute intermission.
