Danika has recently returned to her hometown of Kingston, Ontario after living in Toronto, where following her studies at the University of Toronto, she worked for six years in the field of communications. Danika honed her skills and experienced success delivering innovative programs, campaigns, and events for arts, non-profit, and lifestyle clients. Throughout this time, she realized that she wanted to be working exclusively within the arts, to support artists and facilitate greater engagement, collaboration, and dialogue within a community. This led Danika to come home, where she immediately got involved with community projects to help enhance their impact through communications, fundraising, and community animation.
Danika was hired as Executive Director at the Kingston Arts Council in April 2016. She previously held the position of Outreach and Communications Officer at the KAC.
Danika is currently continuing her education with the Certificate of Cultural Planning at University of British Columbia (online) and also bringing an co-operative coworking space to downtown Kingston.
