The Kingston Arts Council (KAC) advocates for the arts at a local level as well as provincial and federal levels in order to advance appreciation and funding for the arts.
The KAC strives to develop public recognition of the arts as a key factor in the unique cultural aesthetic of our community and on economic development. The KAC works alongside the City of Kingston's Cultural Services in order to carry out the Kingston Culture Plan and regularly attends City of Kingston Council, Arts Recreation and Community Policies Committee and Arts Advisory Committee meetings on behalf of all members.
The role of the KAC is one of leadership. The KAC embodies the values of our arts community and is the link between our artists and the City. KAC communications focus on community arts topics and provide the means for our artists to connect within and beyond our community. The KAC aims to ensure that the arts remain a major cultural pillar in Kingston, that our city is a place where artists want to live, work and contribute to the vitality of our community.
