Kirsi joined the Kingston Arts Council as Executive Director in October 2018. She has been a Kingston resident since 1996 when she came to the city to attend Queen’s University, where she earned her BAH in Drama. Since that time, Kirsi has worked primarily in leadership positions in the arts, culture and tourism, including work with the Haunted Walk of Kingston, the Museum of Health Care and the iSTORM Children’s Theatre Company.
In addition to her background in theatre, Kirsi is a writer currently completing two children’s picture books and compiling a book of essays and poetry. She also recently completed her Certificate in Editing from Simon Fraser University.
Laura Chaignon | Programming and Communications Coordinator
Laura Chaignon (she/her) joined the Kingston Arts Council as the Programming and Communications Coordinator in September 2019. Laura is an arts worker and activist based in Katarokwi/Kingston, ON. Born and raised in Paris, France, she has been calling this northern land her home for over three years. Laura has worked in publishing, in marketing, and has served as Artistic Coordinator and Interim Artistic Director of the Centre Culturel Frontenac before joining the Kingston Arts Council. Laura believes her work is one of service, deep compassion, space holding, brave imagination, and activism.
Felix joined the Kingston Arts Council as the Grants Coordinator in October 2017. Felix is a graduate of Queen’s University and Georgian College and has lived in Kingston for nearly twenty years. Upon completion of their graduate certificate in Museum and Gallery Studies, Felix knew they wanted to begin their career as a part of Kingston’s growing arts community. Felix previously worked with H’art Centre, where they became engaged with non-profit organizations and diverse opportunities for artists in the city.
