Kirsi joined the Kingston Arts Council as Executive Director in October 2018. She has been a Kingston resident since 1996 when she came to the city to attend Queen’s University, where she earned her BAH in Drama. Since that time, Kirsi has worked primarily in leadership positions in the arts, culture and tourism, including work with the Haunted Walk of Kingston, the Museum of Health Care and the iSTORM Children’s Theatre Company.
In addition to her background in theatre, Kirsi is a writer currently completing two children’s picture books and compiling a book of essays and poetry. She also recently completed her Certificate in Editing from Simon Fraser University.
Laura Chaignon is a bilingual arts administrator and writer who has been living in Kingston for two years. After graduating from a Master’s in French Literature at the Université Paris-Sorbonne, she worked in publishing in Paris and in marketing in Montreal. Laura has been actively involved in the Kingston arts community for the past year and a half, as she was the Arts Coordinator for the Centre culturel Frontenac. She is very excited to join the Kingston Arts Council team effective September 2019 and continue her efforts to support a vibrant arts community in the city.
Felix joined the Kingston Arts Council as the Grants Coordinator in October 2017. Felix is a graduate of Queen’s University and Georgian College and has lived in Kingston for nearly twenty years. Upon completion of their graduate certificate in Museum and Gallery Studies, Felix knew they wanted to begin their career as a part of Kingston’s growing arts community. Felix previously worked with H’art Centre, where they became engaged with non-profit organizations and diverse opportunities for artists in the city.
