KCFF is stoked to welcome Daniel Maslany (actor), Eleanore Lindo (director) and Julie Lacey (producer) to the Broom Factory stage on March 1. This moderated discussion will take you behind the scenes, with a special focus on the landmark 300th episode which was shot in downtown Kingston last year. Make sure to bring your own questions for the extended Q&A – here’s your chance to solve any lingering mysteries behind Murdoch Mysteries!

DANIEL MASLANY, ACTOR

Daniel Maslany joined the cast of Murdoch Mysteries in Season 10. He was a regular on the sci-fi drama series Impulse for YouTube Originals and starred on CBC’s offbeat and absurd comedy series Four in the Morning. Daniel’s film credits include roles in the independent features GoliathSupergrid and Lie Exposed and the short films The Mohel, Ingredients, and Touch, which won the Lakeshorts International Short Film Festival Jurors Choice Award. He has performed in theatres across Canada with Alberta Theatre Projects, Caravan Farm Theatre, and 2b Theatre. His solo show O.C.Dean premiered at Globe Theatre in Regina in 2013, and then toured to Uno Fest in Victoria in 2014. He starred in the Canadian premiere of Stupid F*cking Bird by Aaron Posner in 2017.

ELEANORE LINDO, DIRECTOR

Eleanore Lindo is a graduate of the intensive directing program at the Centre for Advanced Film Studies at the American Film Institute in L.A. The Toronto native credits the program with transforming her “from a director into a filmmaker.” Lindo’s strong work with actors and her distinct visual style are easily detected in the many award-winning hours of television series and movies, anthologies, and specials that she has directed. Her credits span a wide spectrum of genres including comedy, drama, sci-fi, erotica, as well as family and children’s programming, and have earned her such prestigious honours as three Gemini Awards, a Children’s Broadcast Institute Award, the Lillian Gish Award from Women in Film, L.A., a Golden Reel, and two Chris Awards from the Columbus Film Festival. Lindo has directed 18 episodes of Murdoch Mysteries, including the landmark 300th episode.

JULIE LACEY, PRODUCER

Julie Lacey is a Canadian television producer, writer, story editor and creative consultant who has worked on numerous Canadian series and television movies, including Due South, Murdoch Mysteries, ListenerEight Days to LiveIn God’s CountryThe Good Times Are Killing Me and Power Play, for which she won a Gemni award for best writing in a dramatic series in 2000. She is the VP of Creative Affairs at Shaftesbury, where she manages Shaftesbury’s scripted drama development slate.
