The concert will feature special guests Patricia O’Callaghan and Peter Aston, and will include works by D’Orleans, Shakespeare, Blind, Campion, Lassus, Bach, and more. Melos welcomes Patricia O’Callaghan, soprano, in an exploration of music and poetry from colder climes, on winter’s darkness, challenges and beauty. With Patricia’s stunning voice highlighting the works, Melos Choir & Period Instruments will perform traditional songs and carols of Wales, Ireland and Sweden; contemporary settings of wintry words by Claude Debussy and Dennis Lee; Lassus’ “Videntes Stellam”; and excerpts from Bach’s BWV 182, “Himmelskönig, sei willkommen”; and Vivaldi’s “Seasons”. With poetry readings and narration by Peter Aston.
