In July 2016, the KAC partnered with Artfest Kingston, an annual showcase of XXX, to refresh the festival’s Art Stars program, which focuses on young artists (16-30 years old) who are just embarking on their careers. Every year, Art Stars showcases the work of local emerging artists and provides exhibit space where emerging artists can gain valuable experience, feedback about their work, and further the learning process of selling their art work in a public venue. Through this new partnership, the Art Stars artists will be juried and the Kingston Arts Council will award one winner with a solo booth at next year’s Artfest. Read about the 2016 Art Stars winner here (Link to PDF).
