Call for Board Members!

The Kingston Arts Council (KAC) is seeking dynamic individuals from the community to join our esteemed Board of Directors and play a crucial role in shaping the future of the arts in our city.

The KAC is the region's primary resource for arts information & support. The KAC promotes the creation, development, and appreciation of the arts in Kingston and supports artistic growth and engagement for arts organizations and artists at all levels of their careers. The KAC also administers key funding programs, the City of Kingston Arts Fund (CKAF) and the Nan Yeomans Grant for Artistic Development.

As a member of the KAC Board of Directors, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of our organization, advocate for the arts, and help foster a thriving arts community in Kingston. Your insights, expertise, and dedication will make a significant impact on the cultural fabric of our city and the artists and organizations we serve.

The KAC is seeking individuals with a variety of skills, backgrounds, and experiences to bring a diverse range of perspectives to our Board of Directors. While we value a deep appreciation for the arts, we also encourage applicants with expertise in areas such as finance, marketing, fundraising, legal affairs, community engagement, and arts administration.

Whether you are an emerging leader or an experienced professional, we invite you to apply if you possess the following qualities:

  • Passion for the arts and a strong commitment to the arts community
  • Dedication to promoting and actualizing inclusivity, diversity, and equitable access to the arts
  • Strategic and forward-thinking mindset
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to commit time and actively participate in board meetings, committee work, and organizational events
